Brief History of Gran Logia Soberana del Archipielago Filipino
“The life of this Grand Jurisdiction dates back from June 1887, the date when the first Regional Grand Lodge was organized in the Philippines, by Illustrious and Potent Brother Miguel Morayta, being the Assistant Grand Master and Acting Grand Master of the Spanish Symbolic Masonry of the Sovereign Grand Symbolic Lodges, under the auspices of the Gran Oriente de España, which afterwards, in January 9, 1889, took the title of Grande Oriente Español.”
Gran Logia Soberana del Archipielago Filipino was chartered by the Supremo Consejo del Grado Trenta y Tres Para España as Regular Masons, Sovereign and Independent in this Jurisdiction.
It is the sole successor to The Grande Oriente Español in the Philippines where our Hereos and martyrs like Marcelo H. del Pilar, Graciano Lopez Jaena, Ariston Bautista, Julio Llorente, Galicano Apacible, Antonio & Juan Luna, and Dr. Jose P. Rizal belongs to this Jurisdiction.
Gran Logia Soberana del Archipielago Filipino is the true lineage of our Philippine Masonic Heroes and Martyrs.
Fast forward, In May 13, 1950, a letter of support was sent by the Supremo Consejo del Grado 33° para España y sus Dependencia to the Supremo Consejo del Grado 33° del Gran Oriente de Filipinas and Gran Logia Soberana del Archipielago Filipino.
